A day out to the gardens of –

Scenery as usual was stunning –

Beautiful male sugar bird –

Just look at the length of his tail.
Female greater collared sunbird.
Unusual rock outcrop resembling a bird maybe.

White lady swordtail butterfly.

Camphor tree walk.

A couple of lovely plants –

Lunch of fish and chips and a chicken toasted sandwich – Lovely –

Bulbul at the water fountain-

Wonderful leopard statue.

25th January 2023

Just been outside to pick passion fruit – a first.

Then off to –

Very upmarket hotel and spa – not quite in our price range!!!!!

And some interesting rules –

Gardens are lovely with a view of Table Mountain about 30 miles away.

And some very hungry carp –

Then onto Speir Winery –

Lovely Malachite Kingfisher –

And a very bright dragonfly –

Yes – it pours with rain here –

We drove into Cape Town past the shanty settlements which are something else. Note that most have some form of electricity to the and Dstv dishes ( like Sky ) and a few have access to portable toilets-

Not sure what goes on in the Salon

Then we visited the wonderful Waterfront Area including the Victoria and Albert shopping mall –

Excellent Greek tapas for lunch.
Wonderful backdrop of Table Mountain.

Then into a more traditional African market –

Then a stroll outside to see the boats, little train and the band had just started up –

Flags from around the world.
Made entirely from recycled bits of metal.

A good day out and the weather only got better.

Today was another of those days –

A dead tree –

And a cactus plant on the course –

I think the message is fairly clear from either direction!!!!!
Nice backdrop for Gordon.
On course watering hole for the wildlife.
Floating green.
The maestro concentrating.
Floating duck residence.
Another lovely backdrop.
And it’s goodbye from him.

Out for a look at some birds ( and a tortoise ) –

This chap was just taking the sun on the path.
Beautiful Egret.
Very hungry Spoonbill.
Preening Pelican.
Pelican and sacred Ibis.
Common Ring Plover.
A wild geranium

Then on to –
Beautiful flamingos and a running coot.
A swallow keeping his feet clear of the razor wire.
There were hundreds of swallows skimming the path that was covered with flies.

These are some of the market stalls –

Famine is a problem out her.

Then we moved on to –

This is the stable block. Inside are individual stall with air con etc.

Then a little lunch of a couple of starters –

Beetroot on sticks and a crispy coated lemon cream cheese.
Something nice
Delicious mussels with asparagus in a cream foam.

The place houses a strange art gallery with a couple of examples to follow –
This little grasshopper was sat on the side. (He’s real !!!! )
