A trip out to –

To see the African penguins. They’re so lovely –

A little windswept in a howling gale coming straight from Antarctica. It was COLD and we didn’t have any coats with us!!!
The water was freezing.
Very handsome chappy.
The view across the bay was very tranquil. Lots of seaweed about.

Then we went to –

They had had a big fire through last January –

All the undergrowth and plants were regrowing well but a lot of the trees still bore the scars –

Views of the surrounding mountains were stunning –

With real water in the waterfalls, unlike 2 years ago when we had to shower with a bucket in there to collect water for the toilets!!!! The hillsides were so green this time –

Lovely butterflies.
Carpenter bee. They bore holes in tree trunks for their larvae.
Very noisy frogs croaking away.
Orange breasted sunbird.
How wonderful is this – Cape Batis looking directly at me. My best photo of the trip so far.
Black saw-bird.
Swee waxbill.
